Notes: The hydroalcoholic solution was carried out with the alchemical spagyric method of Solanimus (TSA) which includes all the phases of classical spagyria with the final addition of a specific phase of alchemical philosophy. Spagyria and alchemy have come together to get the best out of the plant. The TSA of Arctostaphylos uva-ursi is obtained by macerating the leaves, freshly harvested in their balsamic time (July-October), in a solution composed of spagyric alcohol and water, following the Spagyric-Alchemical method of Solanimus. The plant contains a glucoside (Arbutin) that has antifermentative properties and is able to inhibit infections, this active ingredient when eliminated through the kidneys splits, thanks to contact with the urine in glucose and hydroquinone, which is the most important active ingredient of the plant and has a typically antibacterial action, especially on the stirrups and coli, (Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Staphylococcus aureus, etc..). The maximum antibacterial action is reached after 3 to 4 hours after administration of the drug. To get the maximum result from the drug it is good to alkalize the urine with a good alkalized (ALCABEN compressedand) as the antiseptic activity of hydroquinone is manifested if the urine is alkaline. The plant also contains formic and citric acid, pectin, an enzyme (arbutase) and up to 35% tannic compounds that strengthen the antiseptic property of the plant. The anti-inflammatory and diuretic activity of the plant is given by the presence in it of flavonoid glycosides (hyperin, isoquercetin) and ursolic acid. Thanks to the principles contained in it, the plant can be useful in the treatment of various inflammatory processes of the urinary tract.
