Pathology:
Metabolic syndrome. Hypercholesterolemia with hyperglycemia. Weight control, weight rebalancing, maintaining an optimal body weight.
Notes:
In various experiments, MORINGA seed extracts have been shown to inhibit the activity of the COX-2 enzyme; inhibit lipid peroxidation by 50%, stimulate the release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells, thus contributing to the normalization of glucose metabolism. At the same time, Moringa oleifera, thanks to beta-sitosterols, has shown in various experiments to be able to improve digestion and intestinal absorption, also with reference to nutrients of a lipid nature. Similarly, Moringa oleifera extracts have shown to be able to favor, in a completely physiological way, the contrast of hypertensive states, weight rebalancing and the maintenance of an optimal body weight. No contraindications resulting from the intake of this plant have been reported. BERBERIS is rich in Berberine, which has been experimentally demonstrated to be able to increase the thickness of the hydrogel (mucus layer) present on the surface of the enterocytes. This directly induces an increase in the secretion of mucin MUC 2 and in the number of Mucipare Goblet Cells. This action is also strengthened by Berberine’s ability to stimulate the intestinal microbiota by promoting the release of acetic and propionic acids which improve the physiology of the mucus. At the same time, berberine increases the expression of the proteins constituting the tight junctions, counteracting the phenomena of increased intestinal permeability. This effect is also enhanced by a protective action of these junctional systems against bacterial LPS (Lipo Poly Saccharides) and a reduction in the levels of proinflammatory cytokines with a notable gastro-intestinal anti-inflammatory action. Finally, Berberine increases the abundance of beneficial species such as Akkermansia municiphila and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, bacteria fundamental for the physiology of mucus and enterocytes, promoters of a eubiotic state, as well as producers of butyric acid and protective agents against type 2 diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis and other metabolic diseases. COENZYME Q10, (also called Ubiquinone or vitamin Q) performs a fundamental action in the production of energy, moreover it carries out an antioxidant and protective action against free radicals. It is a transporter of hydrogen, an important fat-soluble antioxidant in the skin, it acts against the peroxides which damage collagen and elastin and thus counteracts the loss of elasticity and the formation of wrinkles. Furthermore, Coenzyme Q10 has shown in various scientific studies how its presence determines an increase in the pumping force of the heart in subjects with congestive heart failure. The same statins used to lower the cholesterol rate can reduce the coenzyme Q10 levels as they block the HMG-CoA reductase, which also intervenes in the synthesis of coenzyme Q10: when this happens, its intake through food supplements becomes essential importance.
