Pathology:
Adjuvant in the treatment of sexual impotence or in any way where a tonic is needed to bring the individual back to satisfactory sexual performance. Tonic. Physical and nervous stimulant.
Notes:
The GINSENG (Panax ginseng) is particularly rich in active ingredients. The root contains mostly saponin compounds with a triterpene structure, both tetracyclic of the damaran group and pentacyclic of the olean type; All these active ingredients go by the name of ginsenosides. The hormone-like structure of ginsenosides, which would constitute molecular skeletons used by our organism to synthesize hormones of which it is lacking, could justify many therapeutic actions attributed in the past to this drug such as, for example, that aphrodisiac and that capable of positively influencing some psychic disorders and neurovegetative disorders of the elderly related mostly to hormonal imbalances. Recent research has confirmed a positive influence of Ginseng preparations on the psychomotor reaction times of the elderly with an evident improvement in the neuromotor coordination capacity. In this sense, the effect of Ginseng is defined as tonic. The subjects examined showed an effective improvement in their mental performance, it was therefore hypothesized that a protracted use of Ginseng preparations over time could maintain and improve memory over time due to a probable direct effect of the dopaminergic type. To all this must be added a peripheral effect which consists in the stimulation of the cardiovascular system and in the stimulation of glucose metabolism which would lead to an effective slowing down of brain aging. From the root of ELEUTHEROCOCCUS (Eleutherococcus senticosus) numerous heterosides have been extracted, among which the most important are: eleutheroside A, which is a glucoside of V-sitosterol, eleutheroside B1, which is a coumarin glucoside , eleutherosides B, D, E, which are syringaresinol glucosides and eleutherosides I, K, L, which are triterpene in nature. Eleutherococcus is now considered an “adaptogen,” in other words a complex of substances able to balance cellular homeostatic mechanisms by stimulating the synthesis of mediators that govern the normal functioning of tissues and organs. This translates into an increase in the body’s ability to adapt to unfavorable conditions that lead to fatigue, anxiety and decreased effectiveness of the immune system and metabolic imbalances. The result is a set of stimulating properties tending to protect the body from the onslaught of stressful situations. Eleutherococcus preparations therefore have an “anti-fatigue“ action against physical and mental efforts, determine an increase in resistance to stress and regulate immunocompetence especially in the periods before or after flu pathologies (M. Rossi, in Erb. Domani, 5/87, p. 113). The GUARANÀ (Paullinia sorbilis) for the active ingredients it contains (purine bases including caffeine approx 4%, theophylline 0.3%, theobromine 0.003%, but also tannins, fats and saponins) has an action basically similar to that of coffee, but with a more intense tonic and stimulating effect, as it has a higher caffeine content from 2 to 5 times of the same; the tonic effect is then accompanied by an intestinal astringent action due to the tannins (Benigni-Capra, Medicinal plants p.712). Guarana is therefore a stomachic tonic, stimulant, used against general weakness, asthenia and nervous depression. It is used to stimulate the appetite, to treat gastrointestinal disorders with dyspepsia, abnormal fermentations and diarrhea. It also stimulates brain function and intellectual activity by combating, among other things, migraine and neuralgia without causing insomnia or nervous agitation.
