The FUMARIA (Fumaria officinalis) also called fumosternum, acetine grass and rooster foot,  It has a strong purifying action of both blood and skin, tonic, diuretic, cholagogue, refreshing, emollient, decisive and sudoriferous,   effectively treats skin diseases of any kind. The BURDOCK (Arctium lappa) has diaphoretic  properties(which increase the secretion of sweat), diuretic, depurative,  detergents, stimulating liver function,  healing. It is widely used as a depurative, stimulant of hepatobiliary functions and in the treatment of acne,   furunculosis and pyoderma in general. Contains: an essential oil, inulin (sugar that can also be assimilated by diabetics), mucilage, palmitic acid, caffeic acid (which is an antibiotic). Its bacteriostatic and antibiotic action would have been demonstrated active on the staff. albus,aureus,hemolyticus,viridans,sui     pneumococci, on the bact. Subtilis and on the bact. tetanus  (INVERNI, Fitoterapia op. cit.). Of the plant, mainly the roots are used. The RHUBARB (Rheum officinalis) is a plant rich in oxalic acid, has eupeptic action, tonic, digestive;  It is an excellent cholagogue, helping the liver in its function as a bile producer,  and good purgative. The ARTICHOKE (Cynara scolymus) has diuretic, aperitif, digestive,  tonic  (stunted and anemic) properties,  eupeptic, blood purifying,  is a liver tonic. The artichoke contains cynarin (active ingredient indicated in cases of liver and kidney failure); enzymes; inulin   (a sugar easily burned by our body and therefore useful for diabetics) and provitamin A. The PILOSELLA (Hieracium pilosella) It has diuretic properties,  both from the point of view of the selection of eliminated catabolites and from the volumetric point of view; this is due to the flavonoids contained in it that have the property of greatly increasing the excretion of chlorides and nitrogenates contained in the urine. It It also has antibiotic activity,  due to the presence of coumarins in the plant. From this we can deduce his hypoazothemic and dechlorinating properties in renal and bladder infections and, as an adjuvant,   in the slimming and cellulite treatment. The SARSAPARILLA (Smilax officinalis) is rich in isomer , smilageenin and sarsapogenin  genines whose formula contains the cholane nucleus of sterols and digitalis genes. These saponins are responsible for the strong diuretic action, azoturia and hyperazotemia that the plant manifests. The plant has a therapeutic mechanism of action with a double point of attack:  the first indirectly on urea and nucleic metabolism, through an action at the level of the liver; the second on the mechanism of renal secretion, through a functional increase in the concentration powers of this organ  (Benigni-Capra, Medicinal plants …). The plant therefore has diuretic and detoxifying properties which are manifested by an increase in catabolites and a relative increase in the values of uric acid in the urine. It seems that sarsaparilla has given good results in the treatment of psoriasis,  because it favors the elimination of cholesterin. The HOREHOUND (Marrubium vulgare) contains a flavonoid (scutellarein) and an alkaloid named marrubin, which seems to have a parasympathomimetic action indicated in the spasmolytic treatment of the gallbladder muscles with biliary stasis. The FENNEL (Foeniculum officinale) is used in infections,activates the functions of the digestive glands,  is useful as a carminative (in other words as a sedative of intestinal gas), in certain tumultuous diarrheas, it is a good expectorant; serves to reactivate milk secretion, stops hiccups, is diuretic and finally exerts a general sedative function. It is a component of the “hot seeds” (used to promote digestion or to eliminate intestinal gas) which are four, the other three are: dill, anise and cumin. In the DANDELION (Taraxacum officinaland) triterpenes (taraxasterols), in synergy with sesquiterpene lactones, act as cholecystokinetics activating the muscles of the gallbladder by modifying the chemical-physical characteristics of bile. Flavonoids and eudesmanolides interact by increasing diuresis. It has protective action against free radicals. Useful as a draining and purifying hepato-renal, in gallbladder disorders and biliary lithiasis,   in dermatoses associated with dysmetabolism.
